Overview

The HelpiKeys is an adaptable A3‑sized programmable membrane keyboard and mouse‑emulator, ideal for users with motor, cognitive, visual, or access difficulties.

It's a programmable keyboard in the same vein as the much loved IntelliKeys Keyboard form IntelliTools / Ablenet, offering five interchangeable overlays that are instantly recognized by the device.

Built-in auditory feedback and extensive customisability make it well-suited for educational use, rehabilitation, AAC access, and learning activities

Features & Capabilities

5 Keyboards in one: HelpiKeys comes with 5 ready-to-use layouts:

  • QWERTY: standard Windows keyboard with slightly larger keys, designed for comfortable typing and access to the PC
  • ABC simplified alphabetic keyboard, suitable for educational activities with children
  • NUMBERS numeric keyboard, designed for logical-mathematical activities
  • MOUSE completely simulates the mouse and replaces it very well
  • YES/NO designed for simple preschool activities and basic communication

Custom overlay support: Use the included Layout Builder software to create and store up to five personalised key maps - including images, macros and special functions (see section further below).

Switch input and mouse emulation: Includes a five-port switch interface to control mouse click, double-click, drag, and scrolling via external sensors or switches.

Customisable settings: Configure activation threshold, key-lock behavior, repetition rate, auditory/visual feedback, and more.

System compatibility
  • Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11.
  • Not compatible with macOS or Linux.

Layout Builder Software

HelpiKeys includes  Layout Builder software, which allows you to:

  • Graphically design new custom layouts with up to 20 keys, associate a given function to each key and print the desired keyboard in A3 format or on two A4 sheets
  • Store up to 5 custom layouts directly to the keyboard memory so you can conveniently use them on other computers
  • Set up and manage simple multimedia tasks such as activating a sound and opening an image
  • Configure the 5 sensor outputs.
