Overview

The Inclusive MP3 Player is a simple, accessible audio device designed for users with physical, cognitive or visual impairment. Users can listen to talking books, music, or podcasts directly from a USB memory stick, or via Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet.

It has been specially adapted for use with wired switches (standard 3.5mm connection) to ensure users with motor skill difficulties can access their favourite recordings.

With tactile buttons, clear speech feedback, 20 hours of playback from a 3 hour charge, and high-quality sound - it’s perfect for anyone looking for an easy way to play audio independently.

Preparing the MP3 Player for first use

  1. Charge the Speaker

    • Connect the supplied USB cable to a computer or mains charger. The indicator light will flash red when charging.

    • Charge until the indicator light goes out - this means the battery is full and takes approximately 3 hours from empty.

    • You can now turn the speaker on using the yellow toggle switch on the back of the device.

  2. The device defaults to Bluetooth mode

    • There is no pair button, the speaker is immediately discoverable and will appear in your device list as SPEAKER5.0

    • Select this device on your smartphone or tablet to complete pairing. The speaker will confirm when teh connection is successful.

  3. To enter USB mode:
    • Plugging your memory stick into the USB port on the side of the speaker will switch the device from Bluetooth to USB mode.

    • The device will automatically detect and begin playing audio files in the order they were added to the memory stick.

    • Removing the USB memory stick will revert the speaker to Bluetooth mode

  4. Control Playback

    • Use the tactile buttons on the top panel:

      • ▶️ Play/Pause - Start or stop playback.

      • ⏭️ Next Track - Skip to the next file or hold to fast forward

      • ⏮️ Previous Track - Go back one track or hold to rewind

      • 🔊 Volume Up / Down - Adjust the sound level.

Preparing a memory stick for use

Most memory sticks should be ready to use without any additional setup.

If your MP3 Player is unable to play files from a memory stick, make sure it is formatted FAT, FAT32, or exFAT and isn't larger than 2TB.

Sound files must be MP3 format and will always be played in the order they were copied to the memory stick.

Connectivity

With the back of the speaker facing you, from left to right, the following sockets and controls are available (see image below):

USB Socket (with a square yellow outline) for playing MP3s from a memory stick.

MicroSD card socket for playing MP3s from a MicroSD card.

Headphone socket for wired headphones (labelled as AUX).

USB-C charging socket (with an oval yellow outline) for charging the speaker.
