Using recording levels (three message sets)
iTalk4 has three recording levels.
Each level stores a full set of four messages.
This lets you change messages without re-recording everything.
Examples:
- Level 1 – Greetings
- Level 2 – Classroom phrases
- Level 3 – Play or home messages
To use levels:
Move the Recording Level switch to the level you want.
- Record messages as described above.
- Switch levels to access different messages.
Using external switches
iTalk4 can be used with external switches instead of the built-in buttons.
To connect an external switch:
- Turn iTalk4 off.
- Plug a switch into the matching 3.5 mm socket for the message you want.
- While pressing the external switch, turn iTalk4 on.
The external switch now activates that message.
Compatible examples listed in the manual include AbleNet Jellybean, Specs, and Big Red switches.
Controlling toys or appliances
iTalk4 includes Toy/Appliance output jacks.
- Plug a switch-adapted toy or appliance into the matching jack.
- Pressing the related button or switch will activate it.
