The Orbitrack introduces a unique cursor control system that allows precision pointer movement using a gentle touch - designed for individuals with limited hand or wrist mobility.
Overview
The Orbitrack enables users to move the cursor by sliding a finger around a circular touch-sensitive ring - no need for hand, wrist, or constant finger motion. Direction and speed are intuitively mapped to the user's touch position on the ring. The central dot serves as a rest area - returning the finger there stops cursor movement.
Surrounding concentric touch-buttons provide dedicated access for left-click, right-click, double-click, and drag-lock functions. All of these can be disabled if preferred and replaced with external switches via standard 3.5 mm jacks.
The built-in SmartTrack™ technology dynamically adapts cursor speed based on prior movement patterns - essentially learning and optimizing control for smoother user experience.
Key features
Precision with gentle touch – Just move your finger around a 50 mm ring - no hand/wrist movement required.
Durable, maintenance-free construction – Fully sealed against the ingress of fluids or contaminants and no mechanical parts ensure reliability, even in challenging environments.
No drivers needed – Plug & play USB functionality works out-of-the-box on PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
Switch-adapted clicks – Optional external switches can take over click functions via 3.5 mm ports.
SmartTrack™ acceleration – Automatically boosts speed for smoother, faster movement. It learns what you are doing and works out the optimum speed setting for you.
Setup and installation
Step | Action |
1. Connect | Plug Orbitrack into USB port; it will auto-detect as a standard mouse - no driver install required. |
2. Position | Place on a flat surface. Rest your palm comfortably atop the device. |
3. Control the Cursor | Slide your finger on the ring - direction and speed correspond to finger position. Return to the center dot to stop. |
4. Use Buttons or Switches | Tap the integrated soft-touch buttons or plug in external switches for click functions. |
5. Adjust Feedback | Optional audible alerts can provide auditory confirmation |
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
Cursor won't move | Ensure finger makes light contact on the ring - not the center dot. |
Click not responding | Try using the touch button again or test with an external switch. |
Cursor control too slow/fast | Allow SmartTrack™ to adapt to your behaviour. |
Fluid/dirt interference | The sealed design will protect against contaminent ingress - wipe the surface clean and dry as needed. |
