Overview
The Access Switch is a durable, inexpensive switch designed to help people activate toys and devices, make choices, or interact with software. It is easy to customise and provides clear feedback when pressed.
It is a push-to-make (normally open) switch, which means it activates when pressed and stops when released.
A clear, screw-on cap lets you securely place pictures, symbols, or materials under the surface. This helps link the switch to its purpose - for example, “speak”, “next”, or “play”.
The switch gives both:
It is available in two sizes: Small (30mm activation area) and Medium (65mm activation area).

Setting up the Access Switch
- Choose a position
Place the switch where it can be pressed easily (hand, head, arm, knee, or foot). - Secure the switch
Use adhesive, VELCRO® brand fasteners, or a compatible switch mount to stop movement. - Connect the cable
Plug the 3.5mm mono jack into the switch input on your device or switch interface. - Test activation
Press the switch and check that the connected device responds.
Customising the switch surface
The clear screw-on cap allows you to:
- Insert pictures or symbols
- Add coloured paper or textures
- Change labels easily without tools
- Small switch (30mm activation area): 20mm diameter
- Medium switch (65mm activation area): 40mm diameter

Mounting the Access Switch
Mounting options for the Access Switches are limited to Velcro/Adhesive solutions, such as the Flexzi 1 and Flexzi 2:
